Well the summer season is almost upon us here at the lake and we’re sure you’re happy about that too!  2012 is an extra special year for us at Koocanusa Campsite & Marina as it is our 25th anniversary of operations.  As usual we have a few events in the works for this summer so be sure to watch our website for details about upcoming events etc. If desired, you can also receive these postings in your email inbox so you know right away whenever we make an update to the homepage at koocanusacampsite.com  Simply visit our website and click on the “Follow” button in the right-hand column.

Here are a few things to note for this Spring and for Victoria Day Long Weekend (May 19 – 21st):

  • The Store will be open for business as of the morning of Friday, May 18th. The Kitchen will be open too.
    Long Weekend Hours: 9am – 9pm

    Spring Hours:
    Monday – Thursday: 10am – 7pm,
    Friday/Saturday/Sunday: 9am – 9pm

  • Sani Truck: new price this year is $22
  • Please Be Aware: a cougar has been spotted in the campsite area recently.
  • Campfires: are currently permitted within our campground and firewood is available for sale at the store. However, a fire ban will be in effect in all non-designated camping areas around the South Country throughout the weekend. For more information on this and on increased law enforcement in the region that will be taking place, please see this Fernie Free Press article (May 8, 2012).   • Lake Level: no boating yet but lake levels are rising steadily (as per normal at this time of year and with lots of snow in mountains yet to melt).   • Live Webcam: exciting news, our live Koocanusa Lake webcamis now available here on our website anytime for your convenience.  Have a great, happy and safe long weekend and we look forward to seeing you back at the lake!

Welcome to our New Website!

View of Koocanusa Campsite from the LakeSpring is officially here and the time has come for a new website here at Koocanusa Campsite.  This summer we’re celebrating our 25th year of operations so be sure to watch this page for the latest information about events happening at the campsite and lake this coming summer.

As you will have noticed from recent past postings:
- The Summer Lock is back on gate and vehicles are permitted (April 5th, 2012)
- Bills were sent in the mail on March 25th so if you didn’t receive yours please let us know.

The Water will be turned on this coming week on Thursday, April 26th.

Koocanusa Campsite and Marina Welcomes You…

Koocanusa Campsite StoreIn addition to the long-term camping sites that we offer, the following services are also available to you and other visitors to Lake Koocanusa:

  • Fully equipped campsite store open to everyone from 8am – 8pm.
  • Snack Bar open daily from 8am in the summer and serving hot and cold drinks, ice cream, hot dogs and nachos.
  • Public Washroom/Hot Showers (available to campers only)
  • Boat launch facility for only $10/launch.
  • Gas pump
  • Propane station
  • Huge sandy beach and amazing views. Okay, we didn’t provide this exactly but it sure is here!
