Greetings everyone. Hope this finds you well and look forward to seeing many of you back at here at Koocanusa for the upcoming Victoria Day long weekend. Just wanted to share with you a few updates to be aware of for this weekend/spring:
Spring Cleaning, May 20th – 23rd, 2016:
We have a large dumpster in the parking lot. Please use this for large items ie: old BBQs, bikes, chairs etc. Please do not use this for household garbage!
After this clean-up weekend please take all of your large items ie: old BBQs, chairs, large cardboard boxes etc. to the Baynes Lake or Jaffray Transfer Stations.
The Store is Open:
The store is once again open for the season, so come see us this weekend for general camping supplies, snacks, 12 flavours of ice cream, fuel, propane, firewood, fireworks and more!
Spring Store Hours, May 23 – June 23:
Sunday – Thursday: 9am – 7pm
Friday – Saturday: 9am – 8pm

Fireworks Show this Saturday, May 21st:
As we were unable to have our annual fireworks show last Canada Day weekend due to the hot, dry weather last year, we’ll be having a fireworks display this weekend on Sat. May 21st at dusk on the beach. Come out and enjoy them and thanks to Fred at site 110 for all your work in putting together this show each year.
Are currently okay as long as they are small, controlled and put out when finished. Please ensure that you have a spark screen for your fire pit. There are to be NO fires outside the back fence line — this has been an issue in past years with young people from our campsite — please remind your children of this.
While everything is looking lush this weekend and there is some rain in the forecast, it’s been a very dry spring so far here in the South Country. So please respect our water source and help us to conserve water.
Other Reminders for our Campers (from the Legal Agreement):
Quiet Time: 11pm – 7:30am
New Generator Hours: 10am – 7pm, please don’t leave your generator running when you aren’t at your site.
Pet Owners: Please keep your dog leashed at all times and do not leave your dog unattended at your site. When you are gone they tend to bark or howl. Dogs are a huge issue and generate lots of complaints.
No Washing of Trailers or Vehicles in July and August
No watering of grass in July and August
All propane tanks over 60lb must be properly secured.
We wish everyone a fun, safe weekend at the Lake with family and friends. Happy Camping and see you soon!
