Labour Day Weekend & Autumn Updates

Greetings everyone,

Hope this finds you well and everyone has been having a great summer. It’s hard to believe but another summer is starting to wrap up here at the lake so we wanted to provide you with a few updates for summer’s end/fall’s arrival.

The Burn Ins live in concert at Koocanusa CampsiteFirstly, be sure to mark your calendars for our Season’s End Parking Lot Dance on Sunday, September 4th at 7:30pm. We’re pleased to announce that this year’s entertainment will be Elkford’s own “The Burn Ins.” This outdoor concert is free of charge and fun for the whole family!

The Burn Ins are an award winning, female fronted, blues rock, power trio from Elkford. They were regional champions in CBC Radio’s 2015 Searchlight contest and also won “Best New Artist” for the 2015 Kootenay Music Awards. They recently (July 2016) won What’s On Magazine’s “Artist of the Year” award at the Fraser Valley Music Awards.

Also, on the Labour Day long weekend, we’ll be having our annual cooking contest. This year we want you to bring us your best Pie! Campers please bring your pies down to the store for judging on Sunday, Sept. 4th at 7pm. Thank you and we look forward to your entries.

Other Koocanusa Campsite News for our Campers & Patrons:

  • Storage Bills are ready for pick-up at the store. Payment by cash or cheque only.
  • Small, controlled campfires are okay but you must have a Spark Screen over your fire pit (these are available at the store.) Thanks for your understanding.
  • The Store is open 9am – 9pm daily until Sunday, Sept. 4th.

Koocanusa Campsite Beach at SunsetFall Store Hours are:
Mon. – Thursday & Sunday: 10am – 7pm
Saturday & Sunday: 10am – 8pm
Kitchen is open daily until 7pm… come get your All Day Breakfast Sandwiches, Loaded Burgers & Veggie Burgers, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and Daily Specials.
The last day the store is open for the season is Sunday, Sept. 18th.
Last Day for Garbage Pick-up is Mon. Sept. 19th.

Regular Lock on Gate

Good afternoon everyone,
Hope this finds you well and enjoying some spring weather wherever you are. This is just a brief note to let you know that the regular lock is back on the campground gate now.

Spring Lock on Gate

Happy New Year everyone, hope this finds you well and that you enjoyed your Family Day Long Weekend. This is just to let you know that due to the warm weather/thawing ground lately the spring lock is now on the gate. Thank you and have a great week!

Fire Ban Starts Today

This is just to let everyone know that a Fire Ban begins today at noon in our region (South East Fire Centre.) So campfires are no longer permitted. For more info, visit http://www.bcwildfire.ca

Our store is open our regular 9am – 9pm hours for the summer now.

The lake is beautifully clear and warm now (earlier than normal) so perhaps we’ll see you here again soon. Have a great weekend!

Water Pump is On

Greetings everyone. Hope this finds you well and enjoying spring so far. This is just a brief note to let you know that as of the end of today, Wed. April 22nd, the water pump is back on for the season. Have a great day and will see you back at Koocanusa this spring/summer.

Spring Lock on Gate

Happy New Year everyone, hope this finds you well and for those of you in BC, enjoying the long weekend. This is just to let you know that the spring lock is now on the gate. Unfortunately the gate is also currently broken as someone slid into it recently. Thank you and have a great weekend!

Campfire Ban in effect & Other Updates

smokyskiesHope everyone had a great long weekend. As you may know, there is now (as of Tues. August 5th at noon) a campfire ban in effect for our region so campfires are no longer permitted. For more information on this please click here.  For the official Southeast Fire Centre Map, click here.

In other news, please note that BC Hydro has scheduled power outage that will happen this Sunday, August 10th from 4am – 8am. This will affect your water.
